There are many ways in which we can ensure the comfort of our guests while remaining mindful of our energy consumption. We encourage guests to turn down the heating in their rooms when they are away or before they leave. Our double-glazed windows and thick stone walls provide excellent insulation. As a historic building, we do not have air conditioning; instead, we favour cleaner cooling solutions, such as providing a fan in each room.

We strive to produce as little waste as possible. We have eliminated individual bath products in favor of an intelligent care system that dispenses soap and shampoo. Once empty, these plastic bottles are recycled or reused. Food waste is also a major concern for most hotels. Our team precisely calculates the quantities needed for breakfast each day to avoid wasting fresh food.

We strive to source locally and ensure an ethical supply chain. Some of the products in our breakfast buffet are sourced locally. Café Cuendet, based in Crissier, Vaud, supplies our coffee. Beans are harvested in Mexico, Laos and Congo in partnership with associations working to improve the social and agricultural well-being of these regions.

Many different players are needed to run the hotel. We rely on our dedicated staff and partners to provide our guests with the best possible experience. Charrière et Fils SA, Aubonne, takes care of the electricity. Ledermann, Lausanne, makes the custom furniture for our Signature rooms. Mazreku, Lausanne, is in charge of construction work. Edelgia, based in Bex, takes care of our linen.
